The IEEE Women in Signal Processing is pleased to announce that Dr. Qian Lin, an HP Fellow and Chief Technologist for Machine Learning and Vision Systems in Personal Systems Software (PSSW), will give a webinar for Women in Engineering Day. In addition to her role at HP, Dr. Lin is an adjunct professor at Purdue University, supervising Ph.D. students in their deep learning research.

Dr. Lin has been with Hewlett-Packard Company since 1992 and has received her BS from Xi’an Jiaotong University in China, her MSEE from Purdue University, and her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University. She is the inventor or co-inventor of 51 issued patents and was awarded Fellowship by the Society of Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) in 2012 and Outstanding Electrical Engineer by the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of Purdue University in 2013. Dr. Lin was also honored with the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Achievement Award in 2021.

In her webinar, Dr. Lin will share her career development lesson of how to align career interests with business opportunities, drawing from her 30 years of experience at HP, during which time she has witnessed numerous changes in businesses and products. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn from Dr. Lin's extensive experience and gain valuable insights into aligning their own career interests with current and emerging business opportunities.
